We value students. Throughout history, God has used young people to accomplish His purpose. David was only a boy when he was chosen to be King. Josiah was a teenager when he brought revival to Israel. Jesus was only twelve when he amazed the priests in the temple. We believe that just as God used these young men, He can and desires to use students today. As a result, we believe that they deserve the very best attention and care.
We value relationships. “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.” - 1 Thess. 2:8. A vital part of student ministry is to develop relationships with students, in order to guide them in the direction God would have for their life. We want to foster friendships and accountability, and recognize that students enjoy coming to church to be with their friends.
We value fun. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” -
John 10:10. We believe that God desires us to have pleasure. Our desire is that every thing that is done in the student ministry will not only be profitable and rewarding but joyful in the process.
We value student leadership. “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers.” I Timothy 4:12. We believe that students are not too young to be leaders. Our goal is to place students in places of leadership within the student ministry and the church. If teenagers can understand molecular biology, play in the NBA, and fight for our country, we believe God can use them as leaders of the church.
We value relevant teaching. “Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity.” - Heb 6:1. We believe students are searching for deeper truths. While the message never changes, we utilize innovated methods to communicate Truth. Each time of teaching and instruction will be specifically designed to build and equip the believer or to encourage the unbeliever to accept Jesus as his Savior.
We value excellency. “If anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.” Phil. 4:8. We believe students can excel in their service for Jesus. Students will recognize inferior imitations, so we offer our best not only for those who recognize our potential but also for God’s glory.
We value worship. “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” - John 4:23. We believe God is looking for authentic and passionate worshippers.
We value outreach. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” - Matt 28:19. As Jesus came for the sick and not the healthy, we recognize that much of what we do must be geared to reach the unreached students in our community.
